Unless you have strict dietary requirements that have been arranged prior to your visit, outside food and drinks are not permitted. All food and beverages can be purchased onboard. Please note that our facilities are cashless, and we only accept card payments onboard.
We are wheelchair accessible (with wheelchair accessible bathroom) in the Lounge Coach
Unfortunately, no dogs are allowed onboard
Pensioners do get a discount and pay R599 for day seating
No, the price includes a return trip.
Guests can board at the Van Der Stel Station at Somerset West. Kindly note this when making your booking.

No, but you can buy snacks and drinks on the train.
Our Elgin Railway Market trips are full-day trips starting at 08h00 and ending at approximately 18h00. Total time on the train (Elgin and back, excluding the market) is about 6 – 7 hours.
The train departs from the AC Hotel by Marriot at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town at 08h00. We ask that passengers are checked in and seated no later than 07h30. The train stops at the Elgin Market, returning to Cape Town.
