WHAT IS DEEP SEA FISHING?
Deep sea fishing takes you offshore into deeper saltwater where larger game fish are commonly found. Instead of staying close to bays or inshore flats, you’ll head into open water to target species that may include snapper, grouper, mahi-mahi, tuna, wahoo, sailfish, or marlin depending on the season, conditions, and trip length. It’s a great option for guests who want a more adventurous fishing experience and the chance to hook into bigger fish.
WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?
Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time. This gives your group time to park, check in, meet the crew, use the restroom, and get settled before we leave the dock. Boats run on a set schedule, so arriving early helps make sure you get the full time on the water.
CAN I BRING MY OWN GEAR?
You’re welcome to bring your own gear, but it is not required. We provide the rods, reels, tackle, bait, and safety equipment needed for the trip. If you do bring your own rod or tackle, please check with the captain before departure so we can make sure it is appropriate for the type of fishing planned that day.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Wear comfortable clothing you do not mind getting wet, plus non-slip shoes or sandals with a secure back. We recommend bringing a hat, sunglasses, reef-safe sunscreen, and a light layer in case it is breezy offshore. White or light-colored clothing can help keep you cooler during sunny days.
WHERE DO WE MEET?
You’ll meet the crew at the marina listed in your confirmation email. Please plan extra time for parking, especially during weekends and peak travel seasons. Once you arrive, look for the Marlin check-in area or dock slip noted in your booking details.
WHAT TYPES OF FISH WILL WE CATCH?
Catch depends on the season, weather, water temperature, and how far offshore we travel. Around Florida, common deep sea targets may include snapper, grouper, mahi-mahi, kingfish, amberjack, tuna, wahoo, sailfish, and sometimes marlin. While no specific catch can be guaranteed, your captain will choose the best fishing grounds based on the day’s conditions.
