Join us for an exhilarating day of Grade 2(3) White Water Kayak Group Coaching on the iconic River Dee in Llangollen! This session is designed for experienced paddlers looking to refine their techniques, build confidence, to conquer the next level of white water.
What to Expect:
* Targeted Coaching: Our expert coaches will focus on developing key skills essential for confident paddling on Grade 2(3) white water, including:
* Precise eddy turns and break-outs
* Effective ferry gliding techniques
* Boofing and punch through techniques for larger features
* Reading the water and anticipating rapids
* River running strategies and safety awareness
* Advanced paddle strokes and boat control
* Dynamic River Environment: The River Dee in Llangollen offers a fantastic variety of features, from playful rapids to more challenging drops, providing the perfect playground to hone your skills.
* Small Group Focus: Benefit from personalised feedback and a supportive learning environment within a small group setting, maximising your coaching time and progress.
Important Information:
* Location: We will primarily be coaching on the River Dee in Llangollen, providing ideal conditions for Grade 2(3) progression.
* Weather Dependent Alternative: In the event of heavy rain or unsuitable water levels on the Dee, we will assess alternative Grade 2(3) locations to ensure a productive and safe coaching day. We will communicate any changes in advance.
* Bring Your Own Equipment: Participants are required to bring all their own personal white water kayaking equipment, including:
* White water kayak
* Paddle
* Helmet
* Buoyancy aid
* Spraydeck
* Appropriate thermal layers/drysuit/wetsuit
* Footwear suitable for paddling and riverbanks
* Safety equipment (e.g., throwbag, karabiner, slings – if you have them)
Who is this for?
This coaching session is aimed at kayakers who are already confident paddling on Grade 2 white water and are looking to progress their skills to comfortably navigate Grade 2(3) rapids. You should be comfortable with basic boat control, eddy hopping, and wet exits.
