The New San Mateo, formerly the Ms Magoo from Westport Washington, is a fifty foot fiberglass factory Delta charter boat built by Delta Marine in 1977. This vessel has had one owner before coming here to Dana Point to her new home with Dana Wharf Sportfishing. This extremely well maintained vessel is United States Coast Guard inspected/certified and has all the highest quality safety and fish finding equipment.
The vessel is now owned and operated by Dana Wharf Sportfishing and we are proud to add her to the fleet in 2022. This vessel has the distinction of being one of the fastest boats in the fleet, which decreases travel time and maximizes fishing time, this boat can also be used for private whale and dolphin watching as well as pelagic bird watching. With a Coast Guard max of 28 passengers, we will limit her fishing trips to just 18.
The boat features the latest technology in communications and navigation. All USCG required safety gear is inspected and approved by the USCG annually for your safety. There’s ample deck space all around with plenty of space at the rail and Delta custom bench seating. The vessel features a large capacity bait tank for holding the best live bait available. This boat is the only Dana Wharf vessel to have an RSW (refrigerated salt water) spray brine fish hold to keep your catch exceptionally cold until your day is over.
